Losar es el “año nuevo tibetano”, el momento más importantes en la vida de los budistas. Un día festivo en el Tíbet, Nepal, Bután y otros lugares del mundo. Para ellos es el año 2146 y será el año de la mujer, la tierra y el cerdo.

La celebración de Losar aglutina al mismo tiempo festividades de origen espiritual y de origen laico. Se extiende durante 15 días, pero las principalescelebraciones se relizan los primeros tres días:

• El primer día de Losar (5 de febrero de 2019) se prepara un brebaje conocido como “changkol”, a partir de una variedad tibetana de la cerveza (chhaang).

• Al segundo día de Losar (6 de febrero de 2019) se le denomina Losar del Rey (gyalpo losar), porque oficialmente es el día que está reservado para una reunión secular en la sala de Excelencia del Samsara y Nirvana.

• A partir del tercer día en adelante, la gente y los monjes comienzan a celebrar y disfrutar de la temporada festiva.

Estas celebraciones tienen como finalidad terminar el año en curso y dar inicio al siguiente, creando las mejores condiciones para que esta transición resulte lo más auspiciosa posible para todos.

Losar is the "Tibetan New Year", the most important moment in the life of Buddhists. A holiday in Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan and other places in the world. For them it is the year 2146 and it will be the year of the woman, the land and the pig.

The celebration of Losar brings together at the same time festivities of spiritual origin and of secular origin. It lasts for 15 days, but the main celebrations are celebrated the first three days:
