“It’s very important to not only take pain and suffering and difficulties on the path but also to take good things on the path. This is the mundane concerns, it’s not just loss its also gain. It’s not just blame it’s also praise. It’s not just a bad reputation it’s also a good reputation. It’s not just pain it’s also pleasure. All of it has to be taken on the path. It’s not that were trying to avoid one and gain the other and that will solve our problems. Both sides. If we just cling to one and avoid the other then we’re back in a very mundane state of being. And, very insecure. Because we’re never going to get all the things we want and the things we don’t want. The thing is to be open to whatever comes, whatever side happens and just go through it. Like a boat on waves.”
