A painter in the late 19th Century, it was after his first trip to Tangier in 1871 that the artist began to reflect on Morocco. These paintings are from his time spent in Africa until his death in 1913. A master of the watercolor medium, Baro's beautiful paintings of Moroccan men and women still stun today, with vibrant shades, rich patterns, and the way he was able to catch each and every detail with his brush.
