Distortion effects on field-induced bimeron crystals in centrosymmetric easy-plane triangular magnets Satoru Hayami Volume 3, Issue 2

https://www.academia.edu/3065-9736/3/2/10.20935/AcadNano8337 Introduction: Noncoplanar magnetic textures such as skyrmion and bimeron crystal (BMX) phases have attracted considerable interest in frustrated magnetic systems. However, the effect of lattice distortion on the competition among multiple-Q magnetic instabilities remains unclear. Materials and methods: We investigate a distorted triangular-lattice spin model with easy-plane single-ion anisotropy under an external magnetic field by means of simulated annealing calculations. The magnetic phases are characterized through magnetization, scalar spin chirality, real-space spin textures, and spin structure factors. Results: We find that lattice distortion qualitatively reconstructs the competition among symmetry-related ordering wave vectors and modifies the stability of multiple-Q magnetic phases. Near the isotropic limit, an intermediate-field BMX phase with finite scalar spin chirality is stabilized. Increasing distortion destabilizes the BMX phase and induces transitions into distinct coplanar and noncoplanar triple-Q phases. The distortion also lifts the degeneracy among the ordering wave vectors and selectively enhances specific modulation channels. Conclusions: Our results demonstrate that lattice distortion acts as an effective control parameter for tuning field-induced multiple-Q instabilities in centrosymmetric frustrated magnets. The present study clarifies how distortion reorganizes the competition among ordering wave vectors beyond the stabilization mechanism of individual topological spin textures. https://www.academia.edu/journals/academia-nano-science-materials-technology/articles?source=journal-top-nav

Problems with Adaptation of Post-Accession Polish Migrants in Countries of the EU By European Scientific Journal ESJ

https://www.academia.edu/167839989/Problems_with_Adaptation_of_Post_Accession_Polish_Migrants_in_Countries_of_the_EU Starting from 1st May, 2004 countries of European Fifteen have gradually opened their labour markets for the new EU members, including the Poles. The first to take this step was Great Britain, Ireland and Sweden, the last-Germany and Austria. For the new EU citizens, emerging opportunities were connected with benefits and wide possibilities, but also with limitations and adaptation difficulties. They had to deal with the language barrier as much as the different culture, accepted behaviours, traditions, work culture and model of spending leisure time. Mentality of migrantswhether they were able or not to immerse into the "new"had impact on finding themselves in another environment. Most of those, who left Poland did not plan to settle, they were leaving "for some time", temporarily. Mentally, they were still connected with previous place of residence, more interested in environment left behind than new one. Such behaviour was not conducive to adaptation; on the contrary, it made adaptation harder. Migrants through listening to Polish radio, watching Polish television stations, using the Polish Internet portals and reading national press, separated themselves from the new environment. All of these was due to the assumption that engaging in new place has no point since their stay is only temporary. Their attitude to the kind of work and workplace was similar. Majority of migrants from the EU-8 countries was taking up secondary employment, regardless of educational background. Wages comparable with Polish were supposed to compensate depreciation on the labour market. A wide spectrum of adaptation problems of Polish migrants is an issue raised in reports prepared by specialized research institutions, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Polish Community organisations. ...

Thesen und Überlegungen zu einer transnationalen Geschichte der Schweiz By Jakob Tanner

https://www.academia.edu/44048381/Thesen_und_%C3%9Cberlegungen_zu_einer_transnationalen_Geschichte_der_Schweiz?email_work_card=title Transnational history is a perspective that allows a new understanding of the emergence, consolidation, and the many challenges of nation states, defining them as a product of interactions across boundaries and as an effect of transcultural exchange. Such an entangled history must meet three expectations: Frist, it is necessary to develop an adequate understanding of the dynamics of historical change. Transnational historiography must not be limited to economic and cultural transfers but must consider the interdependent transformation of nation states in the course of their mutual intertwining. Secondly, such an approach must promote a new research practice that combines international mobility and networking and widens the source base beyond national borders. Thirdly, a transnational history requires a complex tram model that makes it possible to overcome rigid epochal boundaries so that the period under study is extended back behind the formation of the nation state. ...

Somos todos asiaticos conexaoasia com br By Pedro Paulo A . Funari

Relational Economies of Reciprocal Gifting: A Case Study of Exchanges in Ancient Maya Marriage and War By Eleanor Harrison-Buck

https://www.academia.edu/54687023/Relational_Economies_of_Reciprocal_Gifting_A_Case_Study_of_Exchanges_in_Ancient_Maya_Marriage_and_War?email_work_card=title I outline a relational economy model that is broadly applicable to a range of economies both past and present. A relational economy begins from the basic premise that all economic transactions are social and interpersonal relations. I apply this model to reciprocal gift economies, specifically the Classic Maya of Mesoamerica (ca. AD 250–850). For my case study, I present evidence from archaeological contexts including the Bonampak murals and hieroglyphic texts to show how marriage and war were in many instances paired acts, simultaneously dissolving former alliances and cementing new social relations. Prestige goods including cacao (chocolate), jade, feathers, and cotton mantles were exchanged in both marriages and warfare. I show how marriage partners, captives, and prestige goods were not objectified in these reciprocal exchanges but were gendered and personified (human and nonhuman) beings. I present a posthumanist approach to a relational economy and suggest that prestige goods are perhaps best understood as relational beings or persons that were mutually constituted and generative. From a relational perspective, these transactions did not embed the social into the economic but were inherently emotional and interpersonal transactions and, therefore, simultaneously social and economic relations in ancient Maya society. ...
