Ancient Egyptian amulet in the shape of a human-headed falcon, depicting the ba, one of the five parts of the soul in Egyptian thought. The ba specifically represented a person’s unique character or personality. Artist unknown; 3rd century BCE (early Ptolemaic). Made of gold with stone inlay. Now in the Walters Art Museum, Baltimore.
