Gardens at the Edge of the Falling Sky: Toward an Entropological Pact By Cristobal Bonelli

https://www.academia.edu/143144873/Gardens_at_the_Edge_of_the_Falling_Sky_Toward_an_Entropological_Pact?email_work_card=title This chapter introduces an entropological pact as a response to the entropic and toxic realities of the Anthropocene, emphasizing the situated and transformative strengths of specific places. Drawing on Davi Kopenawa's critique of obstructed "white" thought, it explores desobstruction as a conceptual and practical tool to address the socio-environmental disruptions of extraction and sustainability rhetoric. By examining lithium-ion battery intercalation and the omissions within carbon-neutral narratives, the chapter crafts portals as interfaces that transform obstructed thought into pathways for reimagining entangled futures. These portals, rooted in specific locales, enable alliances that illuminate the interplay between destruction and vitality. Ethnographic concepts, understood as relational and situated abstractions, emerge as crucial tools for fostering care and grounding transformative practices. The chapter challenges linear visions of progress, inviting readers to engage with the fragile yet enduring gardens of the Anthropocene, where decay and renewal coexist in the tensions of lived worlds. .
