Chapters can be based on a theme and discuss multiple pieces of work: e.g., depictions of Mormonism in the television series Big Love, the animated comedy South Park, Mormon comedy Sons of Provo, and documentaries like Prophet’s Prey; or can compare depictions of de-programming in television series like Signs and Wonders (1995), and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and films like Holy Smoke! (2000). Another approach might address genres, like the Christian Romantic Comedy, the Iranian Horror Film, evangelical talk shows; and reality TV series that seek to prove the existence of ghosts, cryptids, and paranormal phenomena. We also welcome chapters dealing with theoretical or methodological aspects of this area of study from any discipline as long as it remains relevant to the academic study of religion.
