Apollo 12 launched on Nov. 14, 1969, into a cloudy, rain-swept sky. After being struck by lightning on launch – to no lasting damage, fortunately – astronauts Charles Conrad Jr., Richard F. Gordon and Alan L. Bean embarked on the second mission that would land humans on the Moon. |
