Subjected to an analysis from a more intimate perspective, the novel Soldados de Salamina [Soldiers of Salamis] comes to bring forth, in the form of a literary investigation with allusions to people and real events, devoid of political content, a forgotten episode of history that takes place in the historical background of the Spanish Civil War, revealing once again the permanent need to preserve and recover that part of the past so traumatic for the Spanish people. What is intended to prove through this article is that literature becomes a true therapy, a method to access a more conciliatory than critical view of the past, of the memory of the Civil War.
