The World Heritage Committee made the management plan mandatory in 2007 to insure that world heritage is well conserved, protected and enhanced. The serial property « Chemins de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle en France » with its 71 monuments and 7 sections of trail was registered in the world heritage list in 1998 and is requested to write a management plan. This management plan has to justify its registration by presenting an Outstanding Universal Value based on the criteria defined by the UNESCO. All the components have to constitute a local management plan in order to achieve this justification. This dissertation presents the work of drafting the local management plan of the component « Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges-Valcabrère ».
