Cet article concerne la documentation épigraphique xanthienne relative aux statues érigées par des prêtres en l'honneur du dieu épichorique Xanthos, symbole éponyme de la cité dont le culte dut être lié à la fois à la cité, au fleuve et au dieu Apollon. Aux quatre inscriptions déjà connues par le passé, dix se sont ajoutées avec le temps, pour un total actuel de quatorze. Toutes évoquent des prêtres qui s'étaient engagés, κατὰ τὰ ἐψηφισμένα, à ériger à leurs frais une statue (ἀνδριάς) à la patrie à leur sortie de charge (ἱερασάμενος). Le culte put remonter à une époque antérieure, mais la documentation actuelle ne s'échelonne globalement qu'entre la seconde moitié du ii e siècle p.C. et la première moitié du siècle suivant. Ces pages sont l'occasion de présenter et de commenter l'ensemble du dossier. This article deals with Xanthian epigraphic documentation relating to statues erected by priests in honor of the epichoric god Xanthos, the eponymous symbol of the city whose cult must have been linked to the city, the river and the god Apollo. To the four inscriptions already known in the past, ten have been added over time, for a current total of fourteen. All refer to priests who had undertaken, κατὰ τὰ ἐψηφισμένα, to erect at their own expense a statue (ἀνδριάς) to the fatherland on leaving office (ἱερασάμενος). The cult may date back to an earlier period, but current documentation only covers the period from the second half of the second century CE to the first half of the following century.
