The first, for which anthropology is uniquely qualified, is to trace the flows of people and information-including the diffusion of UFO beliefs-that connect flying saucer religions around the world. The second is to determine the nature of the relationship between culture, social conditions, and the adoption of UFOs into the religious repertoire. The third is to analyze the role of technology in UFO religions, both in conceptualizing the sacred and in mediating between those religions and the wider society. ...
