NASA’s Webb Reveals Dynamic Panorama of Star Formation

Using Webb’s powerful instruments, astronomers searched the region for brown dwarfs — objects less massive than the smallest stars — and identified some only about twice the mass of Jupiter. These discoveries move the study of brown dwarfs into an unexplored mass range and offer fresh insights into how stars form.
