How A Tiny Israeli Organization Helped Paradise

In the midst of another difficult fire season in California, we pause to remember exactly a year ago this week the wildfire that broke out in Butte County in California. In the 17 days the fire burned, 86 people were killed, thousands of acres destroyed, and the town of Paradise reduced to rubble.

It was the deadliest fire in California history.

As the traumatized survivors of Camp Fire began reaching out for help, they were surprised to discover that the hands stretching back to give them comfort and hope at the worst moment of their lives, were Israeli.

What were Israeli aid workers from the NGO IsraAID doing in California, 7,000 miles from home?

This is the story we tell you at ISRAEL21c.

It’s our mission to shine a light on all the extraordinary people in Israel who go out of their way to help others and to make our world a better place.
