The analysis approaches migration as a multilevel social determinant of health, highlighting how it increases migrants' exposure to health risks while simultaneously limiting access to healthcare services. I first situate Venezuelan migration within its broader context by examining the multiple, often intersecting factors that drive individuals to leave their country. I then explore the migratory journey of Venezuelan asylum seekers in Central America and Mexico, illustrating how dangers and risks are not isolated events but recurring and cumulative experiences along the trajectory to the United States, generating forms of suffering that significantly impact migrants' wellbeing and health.
