NASA DM-2

NASA DM-2

For the first time in history, NASA astronauts launched to the International Space Station from American soil in a commercially built and operated American spacecraft. The SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft carrying astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley lifted off May 30 and successfully docked at the space station the next day. Truly a new era of space exploration has begun.

Acknowledging that this milestone coincides with the nationwide unrest America is experiencing, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said, “Let me be clear, NASA is a place where unity, respect, and decency are prioritized, and we will continue to promote an agency culture that aligns with these core beliefs.”
