Ellen Cooper is recognized as a portrait artist of distinction because of her sensitive approach, combined with technical ability, that allows her to imbue a living truth about each of her subjects on her canvas. She earned her BFA at the Tyler School of Art and her MFA at Temple University and later studied under contemporary masters, Burt Silverman and Daniel Greene. In recent years, Ellen has been honored with more than twenty international and national awards for her portraiture, including First Place & People’s Choice Award at the 2011 Portrait Society of America International Competition.
Ellen Cooper’s paintings have been featured in numerous museum exhibitions and are collected by private, corporate and public institutions across the United States. Her work has been featured in many publications including International Artist, The Art of the Portrait, American Art Collector, and featured on the cover of Artist’s Magazine in 2011.
